APC To NDC: Nkechi Nwaogu Remains Our Member, Produce Evidence Otherwise

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has fired back at the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, over claims that former Senator Nkechi Justina Nwaogu is now a member of the party, insisting that she remains a bona fide APC member.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, on September 25, 2026, the APC said Nwaogu participated in its senatorial primary election on May 18, 2026, after purchasing the party’s nomination form.
The party said Nwaogu polled 12,033 votes to emerge runner-up in the primary, conducted with Hon. Erasmus Cishark as Returning Officer and Chairman of the APC Senatorial Primary Election Committee.
The APC further stated that Nwaogu’s name was contained in its membership register submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on May 10, 2026.
According to the party, there is also no record of Nwaogu resigning her APC membership, while her registration and membership details allegedly remain in the databases of both the APC and INEC.
The party said Nwaogu, as an experienced former lawmaker, understands the legal implications of belonging to two political parties simultaneously.
The APC consequently urged the NDC to desist from what it described as misleading claims and avoid creating confusion among members of the public.
The party maintained that Nwaogu’s membership records, participation and financial records are documented and verifiable.
