The Civil Society Action Coalition on Education Abia State chapter has lauded the federal government of Nigeria for choosing Abia State as the host of the 82-plenary meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee on Education in the country scheduled from September 4 to 8 2023, in Umuahia the state capital to be chaired by the Minister of Education Tahir Mamman.
In a release issued on Thursday, August 31 signed by Mrs Eunice Egbuna Abia State and South East Coordinator, and made available to NewsCritic online, CSACEFA noted that the meeting provides yet another opportunity for major education stakeholders in the country to deliberate and come up with workable policies that can impact positively on the future of education in Nigeria, adding that such gatherings also serves as a veritable platform for the revaluation of existing policies and the birthing of new ones.
According to the statement, the ultimate goal of the August gathering of the 36 Education Secretaries from across the 36 States and the FCT Abuja of the country is the formulation of a blueprint for the general advancement of qualitative education in Nigeria.
“CSACEFA, Abia State chapter is very appreciative of the federal Ministry of Education in acknowledging our organization, as a crucial stakeholder in the education sector.
CSACEFA as a non-governmental organization has over the years been working towards the promotion of quality education for all in Nigeria, with special emphasis on advocacy and collaboration.
It is gratifying that CSACEFA’s critical role and contributions in shaping education policies and practices at both State and federal levels are being acknowledged.
We are highly honoured for the choice of Abia as the host of the 82 Joint Consultative meeting, and the recognition of our modest innovative contributions to education advancement in the country.
