The wife of the Abia State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance( APGA), Mrs Joy Ibe, has congratulated Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike on her promotion to the rank of a General in the United States of America (USA)Army.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists in Umuahia, Mrs Ibe commended Amanda Azubuike for blazing the trail for Nigerian females in far away USA.
According to Mrs Ibe, “I want to congratulate Amanda Azubuike for making all Nigerian females proud by achieving the rare feat of emerging a General in a male dominated profession”.
She reasoned that Amanda had to overcome stiff challenges presented by both gender and country of origin, to rise to the top in her chosen military career.
Mrs Ibe particularly praised her courage and determination, while enjoining other Nigerian female professionals to emulate her worthy example.
Correspondents report that Amanda Azubuike, who was born by a Nigerian father of Imo state origin was recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the US army.
