Former Chairman Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty Eze KAN Emekobum has praised the executive governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti on his numerous activities within the short period he took over the mantle of leadership in Abia State, saying that the governor through his actions has shown that he means business.
Eze KAN Emekobum told journalists in Umuahia against the backdrop of the swearing-in of the commissioners nominees Friday 7 July that the Abia State Gov has not only kept to his promises of forming the state executive council before the end of June, but has equally made sure that the civil servants were paid their salaries and wages on or before the 28th, of the month starting with June salaries.
According to the traditional ruler of Okpu-Isingwu Autonomous Community, the Gov Otti’s administration is going to be a marked departure from the previous administration in view of his drive to rebuild Abia and make it a better place for all the residents.
HRM Eze Emekobum noted that there is serious improvement in the waste management and disposal in Umuahia and Aba, with the taskforce working hard to ensure that all the mountains of refuse that dot the cities and pose health challenges are removed.
He said that with the calibre of people that constitute the state executive council, whom he described as square pegs in square holes, the Gov Otti’s administration, he stressed will not fail to deliver on good governance because he has a clear vision as well as focused on the job.
He, however, advised the governor to do something about the present security situation and ensure that the various security agencies in the state are on top of their game, as according to the Okpu-Ngwu 1 of Okpu-Isingwu autonomous there appears to be a spike in criminality, especially car theft and robbery in Umuahia and environs, and abduction at Ihube-Okigwe-Umunneochi axis.
Eze Emekobum urged Abians to embrace Gov Otti’s reform programmes for good because he means well for the state.
