Ohanaeze Ndigbo Umuahia North Gets New Leadership

‎‎Ohanaeze Ndigbo Umuahia North chapter has elected a new leadership following the dissolution of the former executive whose tenure has elapsed.

‎In the election held on Monday 4th May, 2025 the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Umuahia North elected Hon Chiadikaobi F.C Elesigwe as its new president. He was elected along with other members of the executive, who will pilot the affairs of the Igbo body for the next four years.

‎Elected along with the President were Hon Martins Emetuobi Eze as the Vice President, Engr Basil Landis Secretary General, Kenneth Chinonye Financial Secretary, Mrs Nkiru Okoro Treasurer and  Evangelist Elizabeth as the Women Leader.

‎Others elected were Emeka Nwaguru Publicity Secretary, Onyeamuwa Ndugburu Assistant Secretary, Okechukwu Nwachukwu Provost and Chief Dickson Oguh as the Patron and Nwoko Chinwekene Coordinator Ibeku.

‎In his acceptance speech the president Hon F.C Elesigwe thanked the members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Umuahia North for the honour done to him, and the trust reposed on him by their votes.

‎He promised that he is going to implement far reaching reforms to reposition Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Umuahia North and make it truly the Igbo socio-cultural organisation that it ought to be.

‎The new president said he will strive to promote Igbo culture and language, as well as make the organisation visible in Umuahia North Local Government Area, while appreciating the former leadership for their efforts and commitment to the organization. He assured that the new executive will work as a team to achieve its stated goals and agenda.

‎On his part the Vice President Hon Martins Emetuobi promised that the Exco will support and coorporate with the president to deliver on their mandate, adding that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Umuahia North has gotten a good leader in Hon F.C  Elesigwe.

‎The Patron of the organization Chief Dickson Oguh said he is ready to give valuable advice to the leadership any time they visit, adding that from their speeches he could observe that the president and the Vice President are ready for the task ahead of them. He advised them to ensure that they carry the former leadership along and not to ignore them.

‎In line with the rotational arrangement the new president is from Ndume Ibeku, while the vice president is a native of Afugiri Ohuhu all in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State.
