Ukwa-Ngwa Asking For Power In 2023 Is Ridiculous & Same As Telling Buhari To Continue- APC Chieftain

By NewsCritic Reporters

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia state and former deputy Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area council, Chief Chinedu Obilor, aka Iyerioba Fayose Ohuhu, has declared that any attempt to allow the Ngwa nation stay in power beyond 2023, can be likened to asking President Muhammadu Buhari to continue for another eight years in office.
Chief Chinedu Obilor, while speaking to NewsCritic online against the backdrop of Ukwa-Ngwa agitation to continue to hold power in Abia beyond 2023, said that the eight years tenure of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is nothing to write home about, hence any plot that would make the Ukwa-Ngwa to take power again under any guise in 2023 would be dangerous and tantamount to rewarding non-performance.
He said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s advisers can’t tell him to do the right things and change Abia narratives, rather they are busy plotting on how to keep the Ukwa-Ngwa block in power beyond 2023 in the face of widespread suffering of the masses under the present leadership.
The APC chieftain said that governor Ikpeazu has failed in most of his promises to Abia, adding that time has come for the people to retire all the old politicians and raise a new crop of political representatives from the state to the national level.
“What I mean is that Abians need to retire a lot of politicians, when you come to Abia nothing is happening in the state. All the former governors, former senators, Reps members and House of Assembly should go home and leave Abia alone. If there is any money, we need to balance them let us contribute and send them away. We are suffering and smiling and a lot of youths know this but they are just pretending about it”.
When asked how Abians are suffering, he explained that workers’ salaries are not being paid especially teachers. “They can’t pay them; the civil servants and we are still building one flyover since the past six years. Look at Anambra state their airport is ready, go to even Ebonyi and see development. Gov Ikpeazu said he would build government house, but six years is gone yet nothing but I don’t blame him. The people around him are the ones caging the governor. They are not giving him good advice; they are sycophants who keep praising him. How can you tell the governor that all is well in Abia like this? We need young people who have not been in power before let them take over. If you give unknown gunmen job there will be peace, if they have job there will be no unknown gunmen, it’s poverty and unemployment that is responsible for rising insecurity.
“So the Ukwa Ngwa asking for extra 16 years in power is laughable, I will not support that because their eight years is not good to us in Abia, we have suffered so much. It is just like telling president Buhari to continue for another eight years, that is what they are telling us”.
