Founder of the Team Nwa-Abia Movement and renowned entrepreneur, Chief (Dr) Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia, is set to tour all the communities in Ohuhu to preach the message of the New Abia and on why it’s imperative for all hands to be on deck to support the new administration led by Governor Alex Otti in the making of the Abia of our dreams.
In a press statement issued in Umuahia the Abia State capital on Monday, 13th November 2023, Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia pointed out that what is happening in Abia today is beyond partisan politics, adding that the new administration in the state led by Gov Alex Otti has demonstrated in action and deeds that it is not going to be business as usual, rather that the resources of Abia State will be utilized to work and serve the interest of the generality of the people.
He said there is urgent need for the reorientation of the minds of Ndi Abia and for the message of the New Abia to be preached in all the corners and communities in Ohuhu, for them to have the right attitude and thoughts towards the Gov Otti led government by supporting its programmes for a better Abia that will work for all of us.
Chris Nwa-Abia maintained that Gov Otti has started well both in terms of infrastructural development and welfare of Abia workers, who are now being paid their salaries and pension before the last day of the new month, the statement notes.
He praised the Express Tower-Umuoriehi-Ossah-Okpara square road project, which he said is moving at a good speed, and the ongoing maintenance work on the Umuahia Township roads by the state government. In addition, Chris Nwa-Abia who holds the traditional title of Ihie Umuahia, said Abians are impressed with the level of work going on at Aba presently, in terms of road construction, and refuse disposal in both Umuahia and Aba.
According to him there is need for the people to have a new mindset and thinking, which must be a complete break from what obtains in the past, where politics was seen as a winner takes all affair and only party men receives government patronage.
Chris Nwa-Abia observed that in the past only government and PDP news were allowed to be aired on the state-owned BCA Radio and Television, saying that has changed with Gov Otti who has opened the station to all, including opposition elements.
According to him the tour of the communities will commence in a week’s time after interface with the various communities’ President General. “Let’s get Ohuhu people to understand that things have changed for good, and that the new government is interested in rebuilding Abia in line with the vision of the founding fathers, so everyone from the top down to the bottom in Ohuhu is being called upon to join the Otti’s train to the Promised Land”, said Nwa-Abia.
