Over 100 Students Win Prof Greg Ibe Vasity Scholarship

A total of 100 students will on Tuesday, 31 January, 2023 be presented with scholarship awards by Prof Greg Ibe the standard bearer of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, for Abia State and founder Gregory University, Uturu.

A press release issued and signed by Rev. Sleek Ogwo, media director said over 400 undergraduates are currently benefitting from the Gregory Ibe scholarship scheme, instituted many years back to help indigent students acquire higher education.

The presentation of the scholarship will hold at the Goodluck Jonathan Auditorium of the Gregory University Uturu by 11: am this Tuesday. 

According to the release “Consumed by the passion to educate more persons, Prof Ibe established Gregory University Uturu in 2012, a development that resulted in the formalization and addition of more impetus to the Gregory Ibe Scholarship Scheme (GISS).

 “Deploying the GISS platform, the renowned erudite Professor of Entrepreneurial Science began to seek to fill noticed skill gaps in the Nigerian labour market by annually offering scholarship to mostly indigent people, to study such highly discriminated courses as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dentistry, Insurance, Agricultural Science, Business Agriculture, Education, among many others.

“Thus, over a period of ten years, Prof Ibe has been able to leverage the GISS programme in adding value to the Nigerian labour market by equipping and empowering more than 600 young people, mostly from Abia state with globally competitive skills and competencies.

“Considering the comprehensive nature of the Prof Ibe scholarship programme, each awardee undertaking any four-year degree course in the prestigious Gregory University Uturu, where on-campus fully furnished hostel accommodation is provided for all beneficiaries, is believed to receive quality uninterrupted training, coaching and mentoring worth between N8 million and N12 million.”
