A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Chief Matthew Onuigbo is of the opinion that Chief Lucky Igbokwe popularly known as Don Lulu should be rewarded with the governorship ticket of the PDP considering his loyalty to the party during its crisis period.
The PDP chieftain who hails from Uturu, but based in the US, posited that the PDP will do a great disservice if the party considers people who walked away from the party during her trying moments, and jettison people who believed that the party is supreme and sacrificed everything to remain in the party.
“At the time when other aspirants were walking away from the party, demarketing the party and colluding with enemies of the party to destroy the party, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe stayed put in the party and remained consistent”.
“At the time when other candidates were filing multiple cases against the party in different courts, Lucky Igbokwe stood by the party”.
“Even when the gubernatorial primary did not favour him, he did not leave the party, instead he supported the late Prof Uchenna Ikonne. He abandoned his interests and focused on how to make Ikonne emerge as governor”.
“How then can such a man be abandoned now, at this critical time when the party needs a loyal member who will fly the flag of the PDP in Abia State. It will be a great disservice to the party and God will surely not be happy about that”.
Chief Matthew Onuigbo urged Gov Okezie Ikpeazu and PDP chieftains in Abia State to support Don Lulu and allow him fly the governorship flag of PDP in Abia State.
