There was a mild drama at the St fimbarrs Catholic Church Umuahia venue of the solemnization of the holy matrimony between Hon Emeka Okoroafor, and Mrs Juliet Okoroafor yesterday.
The lawmaker representing Isikwuato state constituency seat at the Abia State House of Assembly got married to his heartthrob in a classy society wedding which attracted the who-is- who in Abia political and social circles.
However, there was a mild drama at the church when the bride Mrs Juliet Okoroafor burst into fit of tears, following the delay of the groom in appearing at the church service.
Newscritic online reports that while everyone was seated in the church, including the clergies, the officiating minister and the bride; the groom Hon Okoroafor was nowhere to be found as he failed to turn up on time for the wedding. All efforts to reach him was not successful.
After a long period of waiting the bride became anxious and burst into uncontrollable tears, while begging close family members to help contact top officials of the Abia House of Assembly to intervene and compel the groom to hasten up for the ceremony which was slated for that day.
Newscritic gathered that she became apprehensive over the prolonged delay of her would be husband from coming to the church for the wedding, sensing that it could be a bad omen.
Some friends at the church told Newscritic online that the bride was afraid that the groom might never turn up for the wedding ceremony again, a reason that led to her shedding tears and seeking for the intervention of the political Godfathers.
At any rate the groom later appeared but the reason for the long delay could not be immediately ascertained by this reporter.
Mrs Juliet Okoroafor was full of joy when the programme finally kicked off, and the couple were eventually pronounced husband and wife before a large gathering of family, friends and well wishers. The wedding reception was hosted at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.
