Nigerians have reacted to the appointment of ex-Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, Charles Soludo, into the Economic Advisory Council, EAC by President Muhammadu Buhari.
On Monday, September 16, Buhari named Soludo, Birsmak Rilwanu and six others as members of his ECA. Soludo’s appointment was seen by many Nigerians as a round peg in a round hole.
Some Nigerians on Tuesday, September 17, took to their twitter pages to comment on the appointment of the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo, by President Muhammadu Buhari. It was gathered that there have been mixed reactions among Nigerians over the inclusion of Soludo’s name and other economic experts in the team. A twitter user, Dipo Awojide, described Soludo and other members of the team, Bismark Rewane and Doyin Salami as brilliant intellectuals, adding that heir appointment on the ECA is a welcome development
Though many welcomed the appointment, however, some are sceptical on whether Buhari will give them free hand to operate and formulate fiscal and economic policies for the government that will help revitalize the Nigerian economy.
