Former second vice president Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, and former Chairman NBA Ikeja branch, Monday Onyekachi Ubani, SAN, has said that there is nothing wrong with Governor Alex Otti running Abia from his private house at Nvosi in Isiala-Ngwa, instead of the Government House Umuahia.
Speaking while appearing on Don FM national programme ‘The Agenda’, Ubani insisted that there is no law prohibiting the state chief executive from running the state from his private house.
On the issue of the allocations to the local government councils, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria maintained that local government chairmen should have the financial autonomy to run their councils effectively.
Barr Ubani who praised governor Otti on the infrastructural renewal going on in Abia State University Uturu, encouraged the governor to resolve some of the issues raised by the lecturers of ABSU regarding their welfare, even as he blamed civil servants over their attitude to work.
