Aba landed property owners, under the aegis of Aba Landlords Protection and Development Association, ALPADA, has urged the Abia State government under the leadership of Gov Alex Otti, not to be distracted in its avowed mission of delivering a new Abia State.
This is even as they have lauded the administration for its infrastructural renewal projects in most parts of the state, particularly in Aba.
The umbrella body of Aba Landlords in a new year message issued on Saturday, December 30, 2023 signed by its President General Hon. Alphonsus Udeigbo, and made available to NewsCritic online commended the governor for the transformation of many dilapidated infrastructural facilities in the commercial hub, particularly the reconstruction of Eziukwu Road and the ongoing reconstruction of the all-important Port Harcourt/Aba road.
ALPADA said that the government’s efforts in putting in place the needed infrastructural facilities have started impacting positively on the economic growth and development of Aba, as well as the entire Abia State.
Hon Udeigbo, in the new year message also appreciated the Governor’s team, particularly Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu and Dr Chimereze Okigbo, Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, and Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, respectively for their untiring efforts at transforming Aba markets.
He noted that the present ease of business transactions at the various Aba markets is an eloquent testimony to the commitment, and dedication to duty by the state authorities.
While paying tribute to Abians, ALPADA members, the leadership, traders and other users of all Aba markets, the body of Christ and traditional institutions in the state for their support and commitment to the renewed Abia project, he appealed to the government to remain focused, and ignore all distracting antics.
Hon Udeigbo noted that government’s policies and programmes so far have sign posted its alignment with the hopes, interests and aspirations of the long-suffering people of Abia State. The Chairman of All Chairmen of Aba, while wishing all a fruitful and more prosperous year 2024, urged all stakeholders in the Abia renewal project to imbibe the culture of peaceful co-existence.
