Traditional Ruler, Eze KAN Emekobum, Congratulates Mayor Of Umuahia North On His Successful Inauguration

The traditional ruler of Okpu-Isingwu autonomous community Ohuhu in Umuahia North LGA His Royal Majesty Eze KAN Emekobum has congratulated the newly sworn-in Mayor of Umuahia North LGA, H/Chief Victor Ikeji on his appointment and inauguration by Gov Alex Otti.

NewsCritic online reports that the Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti had on Thursday 30, November 2023 inaugurated the 17 newly appointed Transition Committee Chairmen/Mayors and their Deputies at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia.

Speaking to newsmen in his Royal Palace, the Okpu-Ngwu 1 of Okpu  Isingwu Autonomous community hailed Gov Otti for his foresight and vision in selecting and appointing the best hands to preside over the local council affairs, adding that Chief Victor Ikeji is one of those whose appointment as Mayor was well received within and outside Umuahia North LGA due to his pedigree.

Eze Emekobum who was the former chairman Ohuhu council of traditional rulers, described Mayor Victor Ikeji as an accomplished man and intellectual giant, who will bring his expertise and knowledge to bear in the administration of Umuahia North LGA.

The royal father said that with the promise made by Gov Otti not to tamper with local government funds, the people of Umuahia North LGA should expect to witness good governance at the grassroots, saying that he believes that Chief Ikeji will make a remarkable difference.

Gov Otti promised while inaugurating the new council chairmen that he would give them a free hand to run the affairs of the councils, and urged them to make the local councils conducive for active production and rapid growth.
