Breaking: Prof Greg Ibe Postpones Flag-Off Of Governorship Campaign In Abia

The Prof Greg Ibe Governorship Campaign has announced the postponement of the proposed campaign flag-off in Abia.

In terse press release signed by the Director-General, Prof Greg Ibe campaign organisation, Barr Longman Nwachukwu, said “here’s to announce the interim postponement of our proposed PGI campaign plag-off as earlier announced.

The guber candidate of our great party Prof Greg Ibeh has issued this directive for strategic reasons. A new date will be announced as soon as possible”. Thank you

DG-PGI.

Though no official reason was made for the postponement, sources said it might not be unconnected with the court judgement that ordered a fresh governorship primary election be conducted for APGA in Abia State.

Although the PGI organisation has filed for stay of execution and also appealed against the judgement, it will only be wise that the issue is discharged before the official flag-off so as not to be contemptuous of the court order.

Earlier the APGA, Abia State had fixed December 22, 2023 for the campaign flag-off.

Highlight of the event according to a statement would be formal presentation of flags to candidates of the party for the 2023 election, including the governorship flag bearer, Professor Gregory Ibe, National and State House of Assembly candidates.

The ceremony according to a press release by the Director General of APGA Governorship Campaign Council in the state, Dr Longman Nwachukwu, is scheduled for the Event Centre at Isi Gate Umuahia by 11:00am before the postponement.
