The attention of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Abia State, has been drawn to a disjointed, fabricated and unfounded report with the above caption being peddled and circulated in the social media, falsifying that Hon. Nkem Okoro JP, the authentic State Chairman of our party, was beaten up and arrested at Abuja while attempting to bribe one of the 3-man Panel constituting the Abia Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
This poorly concocted but deliberate falsehood sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led Government of Abia State, is not only ridiculous and laughable but signifies the palpable fear enveloping their camp after the judges shunned and rejected all manner of inducements and bribe extended via undercover agents.
We are not surprised that those seeking to bribe the judges with our common patrimony meant for the development of our dear state, have shamelessly turned around to accuse Dr. Alex Otti OFR, our Governorship candidate; a patriotic Nigerian that has kept faith in the Judiciary of attempt to bribe a member of the Tribunal using no other person than the State Chairman of his party.
With this deceptive and colossally failed propaganda and falsehood which no doubt is sponsored to deceive the gullible minds, divert attention renewed moves to penetrate and bribe the judges, we wish to, however, state that Hon. Okoro is nowhere near Abuja as he has never left Abia since Thursday the Tribunal reserved judgement after adopting addresses from the parties.
We wish to also disclose that Hon. Okoro, the authentic state chairman of our party, today being Sunday, 1st September 2019, worshiped at Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral, Umuahia alongside some other APGA faithful from our state.
It is on the strength of the above clarification that we enjoin our party faithful and supporters of Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, Ndi Abia and Nigerians at large to discountenance and completely disregard the falsehood fabricated and sponsored by those who are jittery over the declaration and insistence of members of Abia Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to deliver nothing but justice on our case.
We also wish to re-echo Dr. Alex Otti’s strong belief in the avowed intergrity of each and every member of the Abia Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the entire Judiciary to ensure that Justice is not only served but shall be seen to have be served.
