Abia State Governo,r Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, will tomorrow Wednesday 19th June, 2019, perform the swearing in ceremony of Chief John Okiyi Kalu as Commissioner for Information and Member of the Abia State Executive Council.
News Critic reports that Chief Okiyi Kalu, who was nominated as commissioner designate was screened and cleared at plenary by the 7th Abia State House of Assembly, led by Rt. Hon. Chinedu Orji. He will be the second commissioner to be cleared and sworn in by Governor Ikpeazu in his second term in office.
Also the House of Assembly screened the Transition Committee Chairmen of the 17 local government councils of the state recently appointed by the governor.
They will be inaugurated tomorrow by the governor along with the Deputy Chairmen.
The Commissioner designate and the Leadership of the 17 Local Government Transition Committees passed the screening by the Abia State House of Assembly to qualify for the inauguration.
Government House special announcement said the event will hold at the Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia, while the time is 10am prompt. All invited guests are to be seated before the arrival of the Governor, according to the Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka.
