Timipre Sylva’s Aide Denies Coup Link, Confirms Abuja Home Raid

The media aide to former Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, has dismissed rumours linking his boss to a coup plot. Chief Julius Bokoru said the allegation is false and politically motivated.

Bokoru insisted that Sylva remains a loyal democrat and a firm supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He accused political opponents of trying to smear the former Bayelsa governor’s image ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎He confirmed, however, that Sylva’s Abuja home was recently raided by suspected Defence Headquarters operatives, causing some damage. Bokoru said the reason for the raid remains unclear, as Sylva and his wife were abroad at the time.
