The Abia State Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) has described the Abia State Governor, Alex Chioma Otti, as truly God-sent, on a mission to redeem Abians from years of misgovernance and mismanagement.
This is as the umbrella body of Abia traders joins millions of well-meaning Abians in celebrating the Governor on the occasion of his 61st birthday anniversary.
In a release issued jointly on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, by its President-General, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo; Secretary, Akwarandu Anyim; and spokesperson, Ejike Urams, ASMATA described Governor Otti as a visionary leader who, in less than three years, has repositioned Abia State on the path of meaningful development and growth.
The traders’ body particularly applauded the massive infrastructural renewal and development projects executed in Aba, Umuahia and other parts of the state, noting that Abia and indeed Abians are once again proud of their state.
While thanking God for granting the Governor good health, wisdom and understanding in his avowed commitment to delivering on the people’s mandate, ASMATA reaffirmed its support towards ensuring that the wind of transformation blowing across the state extends beyond 2027.
“Your dedication to leadership, unflinching commitment to infrastructural renewal, massive development projects and sincerity of purpose have continued to endear you to the overwhelming majority of Abians and beyond.
“You have proven yourself a true, people-centred Governor who prioritises the interests and well-being of the people above personal considerations.
“Your commitment to a new Abia has restored hope to Abians who were traumatised for nearly two decades in the past.
“Your capacity is top-notch, and your records within such a short time are glaring for all to see. You have no doubt placed Abia State on the fast lane of development.
“We therefore, on this special occasion of your 61st birthday, pray for long life, good health and wisdom as you continue to take Abia to greater heights,” Udeigbo stated.
