Hon. Chief Onyedi Okwulehie has called for increased grassroots support for Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, as he continued the second batch of palliatives distribution across Ohuhu communities.
The distribution, which took place on Friday, covered Nkwoegwu and Nkwoachara wards, where residents received food items and cash support as part of the Christmas outreach.
Speaking during the exercise, Okwulehie reaffirmed his full political support for Governor Otti, urging residents who are still uncertain about the state’s direction to visit Aba and Umuahia to witness ongoing infrastructural and developmental projects.
He said sustained grassroots support, particularly in Ohuhu, would serve as an appreciation to the governor for what he described as visible and impactful governance across Abia State.
Okwulehie noted that the outreach was part of efforts to promote responsive leadership and community-focused development in the state.
Beneficiaries in each of the two wards received bags of rice, cartons of noodles and spaghetti, cartons of tomato paste, assorted drinks, as well as a cash sum of ₦200,000 per ward.
He disclosed that the palliatives distribution would continue in other wards in the coming days.
Officials present at the event included the Acting Director-General of the Odinma Ohuhu Political Group, Chief Jones Nwabueze, Mr. Obinna Ndubueze, and other members of the organisation.
