Gov Otti Reaffirms Plan To Make Abia One Of Nigeria’s Cleanest States

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has restated his administration’s commitment to making Abia one of the cleanest states in Nigeria, crediting steady progress in Aba to strong partnerships with residents and stakeholders.

Represented by the General Manager of ASEPA, Mazi Ogbonnaya Okereke, at ALPADA’s end-of-year get-together and inauguration of new executives in Aba, the Governor praised the landlords’ association for its consistent cooperation, which he said has supported ongoing urban renewal and waste-management reforms.

Otti noted that Aba, once burdened by poor sanitation, has experienced significant improvement due to intentional cleanup efforts by ASEPA and community partners.

Chairman of the occasion and Aba Zonal Coordinator of the Abia State Harmonized Taskforce, Chief Uche Wogu, commended the state government for transforming Aba’s image and enhancing its cleanliness and security through coordinated enforcement activities.

Outgoing ALPADA President-General, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo, highlighted the group’s role in supporting government initiatives, including revenue mobilization and sanitation campaigns. He said Aba’s improved environmental condition within two years is “remarkable and worth celebrating.”

A major highlight of the event was ALPADA’s donation of 250 customized aprons to ASEPA workers.

The new President-General, Engr Leonard Onyemesiri, pledged to strengthen ALPADA’s collaboration with the state government and build on the achievements of past leadership.
