The Abia State Government has completed the Umuawa Alaocha Health Centre project under the direct intervention of Governor Alex Otti, marking another milestone in the administration’s drive to expand access to quality healthcare across the state.
The newly completed health facility is equipped with a standard borehole and solar-powered streetlights to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply.
According to the General Manager of the Abia State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Mr. Ekpo Ekejiuba, the agency is also furnishing and equipping the health centre to make it fully functional for the benefit of the Umuawa Alaocha community.
Ekejiuba further disclosed that construction work has commenced on staff quarters for health workers at the facility to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
He added that the agency will soon begin the construction of an examination hall and an additional classroom block for both the primary and secondary schools in the community. These projects will also feature solar lighting and a borehole system.
Ekejiuba commended Governor Otti for his commitment to grassroots development, noting that the people of Umuawa Alaocha have never had it so good.
He reaffirmed that the Otti-led administration remains focused on delivering sustainable, people-centred development for all communities in Abia State, including Ohuhu.
