The Registrar of Kingdom College of Theology Ozu Abam in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State Reverend Emma Ukoha, has praised Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti for his foresight in the reconstruction of the Omenuko Bridge Ozu Abam, saying that with that singular act the Governor is assured of winning their votes come 2027. This is just as he seeks the integration of agriculture into the school system to boost food production.
Reverend Emma Ukoha who is the Registrar of Kingdom Ministry College of Theology Ozu Abam spoke to journalists during the sixth graduation ceremony of the school held on Friday 18th April, 2025 at the school graduation ground Ozu Abam. He said that while the school which is located inside the rural community of Ozu Abam is faced with infrastructural challenges, the Registrar however commended Gov Alex Otti for his magnanimity in the reconstruction of the Omenuko Bridge which was built in 1942 during the colonial era.
Said Rev Ukoha ‘’we’ve challenges here, for example we need roads, however, we appreciate the efforts of the Governor over the reconstruction work going on at our bridge, it’s beautiful. What he is doing is something that has been there in the last 24 years and nothing happened. So, with that alone he will win our votes, the Registrar asserted.
Speaking about the Kingdom Ministry, Revd Ukoha said they have preached the gospel for 12 years prior to the birth of the college, which according to him was founded to train the gospel ministers who would continue the ministry and expand the gospel to other areas. He emphasized the fact that his ministry is not into what he described as church movement, ‘’which basically is the gathering of members who are waiting for the kingdom to come, and in the collection of tithes and offerings’’.
He disclosed that their operations differs so much with other ministries in the sense that they run a gospel school system where the gospel is taught in-depth, and not a church system, adding that his ministry does not live by tithes because they believe in acquiring professional skills which has distinguished its students with others. ‘’We’ve been able to cover grounds of the school system and one of the grounds is to empower the youths, equip them with necessary skills while they do the gospel professionally, he submits.
Rev Ukoha insisted that the college does not train its students to be job seekers, rather we train them to use their skills to earn a living and do the gospel… ‘’then we also reabsorb them into the system to continue. Many of them are assistant teachers, some are living in the school, and those who are a little higher in education are with us in the school. The students are not job seekers when they graduate, but they are not in bondage, anyone can go anywhere he wants’’, the Registrar clarifies.
The Kingdom Ministry Theology College offers some fundamental courses on the word of God, and the MG 2 which is called ministerial gift of the gospel. These are the main areas from which it moved into extensive courses, which is called Gospel Agronomy, and then into MG 2 Engineering’’. So that ‘’the gospel, the word and the ministerial gift are the materials we have, then this other branch is to help us to make ends meet, while we do the work, said Rev Ukoha.
He revealed that almost everything they use or consume at the school are produced by them as the college is into large scale agriculture, rice farming, palm oil plantation, Cassava, maize etc as well as into fabrications, manufacturing and engineering works.
The Nigeria educational system, according to him is borrowed from the white man which was designed to make us subservient, adding that the substance of education was not given to us. ‘’Our main culture in the beginning was agriculture, our parents were classified farmer, if we had incorporated farming into our school system as it were earlier, every one of us would have gone into agriculture, and government wouldn’t have had problems.
‘’It ought to have become grassroots education where every student will pass through agriculture to qualify to earn his living. So, they are trying but it is not solid until it is incorporated into the school system to acquire it as a skill. The government has been trying throwing money to the youths but it is hanging, you didn’t clear the grass but you’re building on the grass. He maintained that Nigeria should get back to the top spot in cocoa, palm oil and groundnut farming.
In his message to the graduating students of Kingdom Ministry Theology College, the Registrar noted that the first thing is for them to remember who they are, their calling and professional skill. We’ve ethics which is no branching, no deviation, no contamination and no sin that is all. So, they are reminded to focus on the ethics of the school, to their works. The substance of the spirit world in their live is their own miracle to make it in life. They should be contented with whatever thing we are giving to them. The bible says that he that is after carnality will die’’…they have spiritual skill and secular skill. They are free people in this order’, he admits.
