Apostle Chuks Alozie Celebrates Gen Yakubu Gowon @ 90

The Director General Global Awareness for Public Safety Foundation GAPS, Apostle Chuks Alozie, has applauded former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon for his peace initiatives and Prayers in Nigeria, ECOWAS and Africa in general.

Apostle Alozie in a message to the Former Military Head of State, on his 90th birthday celebration in Abuja, described him as a father of present Nigeria’s unity and progress.

The GAPS DG who doubled as the Abia state Coordinator Nigeria Prays, a pet project of General Gowon aimed at gathering men and woman who intercedes on behalf of Nigeria and her well-being for the progress, prosperity of the nation, leaders at all levels, economic advancement and peace of the country, commended General Yakubu Gowon for always ensuring that the organization live up to expectations till date.

Apostle Alozie while recalling the unwavering commitment of General Gowon to Nigeria project as Head of state, such as the establishment of the National youth Services Corp NYSC programme, the Unity Schools among others, which according to him has played significant role in bringing Nigerians together through education and a call to national service there by fostering unity and togetherness for a common goal.

On international scene, Apostle Alozie said the establishment of Economic community of West African States ECOWAS in 1973, which he was one of the Founding fathers, General Gowon administration was among the forces that brought liberation to the Republic of Zimbabwe, and Republic of South Africa through ECOWAS.

According to the DG GAPS “You have played significant role in Africa through the establishment of regional political and economic union ECOWAS in 1973, your Government brought liberation to Zimbabwe and later South Africa, your administration worked closely with then Organization of African Unity OAU, now African Union AU, and it was at this commitment of Africa’s Unity and progress you lost your Government while attending OAU submit in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in 1975”.

“Recently, your statement as a living witness on ECOWAS establishment, that Neither your generation nor current or future generations will forgive the break-up of ECOWAS, as called for the lifting of all sanctions imposed on Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali and Niger, the four countries ruled by transitional powers following military coups in those countries shows your love to unity and peace” the statement reads in part.

Apostle Alozie further said “Your commitment to prayers for our Country, through hosting and attending spiritual programs to pray and seeking for God’s intervention in the affairs of our country Nigeria is highly commendable”

While wishing General Gowon a happy birthday, thanked him for always being on the part of Nigeria’s unity, ECOWAS and Africa in general and prayed for God to grant him with good health and more years of celebrations.
