The Jacob Madubuike Family of Umuoriehi Isingwu, Ohuhu, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State on Tuesday 13th August, 2023 shared palliatives worth over N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) to the people of Umuoriehi village, in an effort to help put food on the table of the vulnerable members of the community.
Among the food items distributed to the villagers were bags of rice, bags of beans and Garri which were distributed to the people through their various families.
While handing over the items to the leaders of the various kindreds that comprise the village, Elder Uzo Madubuike who is the head of the Jacob Madubuike family and Village Head of Umuoriehi Isingwu, thanked God for the grace given to him and his siblings to assist their community.
He said that it is his prayer that such benevolence spirit will never cease to continue in the village, adding that in an atmosphere of peace and unity the sky would be the limit because the village is bound to experience remarkable progress in all areas of community development.
Uzo Madubuike harps on the need for peace to reign in the community and for those seeking for violence to see the reason to embrace peace and brotherliness, as according to him “we are making efforts to bring better things to Umuoriehi.
The president general of Umuoriehi Isingwu, Elder Okeaghialam Isiuwa in his remarks during the distribution of the items applauded the Jacob Madubuike family, as represented by the Village head Elder Uzo Madubuike for always being there for the villagers.
He declared that Umuoriehi does not need war but development and welfare as had been demonstrated severally by the Jacob Madubuike family, saying that enough is enough.
The eldest man in the community and member of the Elders Council Dee Odizuru…thanked the donors, saying that these are what “our brothers oversea gave to us for our welfare, while expressing his appreciation to the village head and his siblings.
NewsCritic online reports that the Jacob Madubuike family are known for their peoples-oriented agenda, having embarked on many empowerment, community development and educational programmes in the community in the recent past.
Early this year, they registered over 25 pupils for the common entrance examinations, and another 20 students had their WAEC registration paid by them.
This is in addition to the registration of 23 candidates for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB.
Again, barely two months ago, they installed a borehole at the village with overhead tanks, which now supplies water to the residents at no cost. Presently, the village head and his brothers are installing solar powered streetlights in the community to light it up and make it safer at odd hours.
