Governor Alex Otti Restates Commitment Tp Fulfill All Campaign Promises
The Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, on Sunday 11th August, restated his commitment to fulfill all his campaign promises to Abians and residents.
Speaking during the 70th birthday and 44th wedding anniversary of Sir and Lady Ibeh held at St. Finbars Catholic Church Bende Road, in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, Governor Otti said that although the State is not where he wants it to be, the State has left where it was, saying that he was committed to fulfilling all his campaigns promises to Abians.
He said that his administration has given Umuahia a huge facelift by fixing many potholes on different roads in the State Capital which has now eased traffic problems experienced in the past. He equally stated that his administration has given entrance into the State Capital from Abia Tower an aesthetic look that befits a State Capital.
“We have just done 14 months and you can see that it is still early morning. Everything we had promised you during campaign, we will do them. We are not where we want to be but we have left where we used to be”.
“One thing you can take to the bank is that this Government will not disappoint you”, Governor Otti declared.
Governor Otti reminded the people that his administration’s focus is anchored on the welfare of the people which was part of the reasons he cleared the backlog of arrears owed pensioners by the previous administration and restored full payment of pension to pensioners in the State who now receive their pensions alongside civil servants who are paid on or before the 28th of every month.
Governor Otti thanked the Church for their support and offering themselves as instrument to bring about purposeful change in the State.
Rev. Fr. Chukwudi Anya PhD, said that Governor Otti is a wonderful gift from God to Abia State, something to celebrate and thank God for. He said the Governor speaks little of his achievements.
The church prayed for the Governor, his entourage and the State.
Governor Otti was joined in the church service by the Hon. Amaobi Ogah, Member representing Isiukwuato/Umunnechi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South in the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.
