Exclusive: Okezie Ikpeazu’s Commissioner Set To Declare For Labour Party With Followers

By NewsCritic Reporters

Barring any last-minute changes in plans, the former Abia State Commissioner for Special Duties and Joint Projects, Chief J.J Okoro, will tomorrow Sunday 24, December 2023, declare for the Labour Party, LP, in Arochukwu together with the ward executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; former councillors and his teeming political followers.

His public declaration for LP will make him the first PDP chieftain and former commissioner under Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration to publicly dump the PDP in favour of the wave making LP in Abia State.

NewsCritic sources within the ruling party said that the Chief J.J Okoro is defecting with his entire followers which will signal the collapse of PDP in the Arochukwu area. “J.J Okoro will tomorrow leave PDP, and the Mayor of Arochukwu LGA is happy that he is the first commissioner that served under Ikpeazu to so declare”, said the source.

The former commissioner is said to have decided to support the good works Gov Alex Otti is doing in Abia State, and that the best way to support Gov Otti’s administration is to join him in the new Abia, the source said.

They accused Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of killing the PDP in Abia with his strange zoning formula and under performance, and asked “how is Gov Otti getting the money he is working with and paying salaries?
