The Director of NewsCritic Newspaper online, Chief Jefferson Uba Ogbonnaya, has emerged winner of the Rapid Fm Personality of the Year awards.
In a letter conveying his nomination for the award by the management of Rapid broadcasting Network, the organisation said it wish to inform Chief Jefferson Uba Ogbonnaya of his nomination for the inaugural Rapid Personality of the Year Award 2023 by ‘your teeming supporters’.
Rapid FM stressed that his nomination is as a result of his contributions and services to nation building, socio-political and economic development of Abia State and Nigeria at large.
The letter which was signed by Bright Ejike, Station Head, said the RAPOY 2023 is scheduled to hold on 8 December 2023 by 4pm and will be held live on Rapid FM studios Umuahia and Rapid TV.
Chief Jefferson Uba Ogbonnaya is a native of Oboro, in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. He holds the title of (Ugogbuzuo Ochake), which was bestowed on him in recognition of his numerous community development efforts.
As an international business man, Chief Jefferson Uba Ogbonnaya is the Managing Director/ CEO of Jefferson Continental Limited, an organisation with interests in long distance haulage, mining, import and export services.
He is also the founder of Jefferson Foundation International, a foundation he has used to touch many lives and provide help to the less privileged and vulnerable members of the society.
Chief Ogbonnaya is one individual who is concerned about the welfare of the downtrodden as he can go to any length to make sure he puts smiles on their faces, reaching out to the widows, orphans and indigent students through his foundation.
Until recently, Chief Jefferson Uba Ogbonnaya was the president of Abia State Union South East Asia. During his reign, he used the position to unite Abians in South East Asia and also ensured that they lived in peace with their host.
He was educated at the Guiling University of Technology China. Chief Jefferson Ogbonnaya is a multi-linguist as he speaks Chinese, French, Arabic, English and Igbo fluently. He has also travelled to over 30 countries cutting across Africa, Europe, Asia and America.
His love for the media has seen him on the board of many media houses both home and abroad. He is a director of News Critic Newspaper and Lensafrika magazine based in China.
He belongs to several groups and associations, including as executive member of Heavy Duty and Haulage Transport Association.
His hobbies are playing squash and reading.
He is married with children.
