Former governor of Abia State Senator T. A Orji is celebrating his 73rd birthday anniversary today Thursday 9 November, 2023. This is just as encomiums and tributes have continued in celebration of the acclaimed Abia Father of Equity who has given so much to humanity.
Unlike his previous birthday anniversary which was marked in grand style as friends and well wisher rolled out the drums to celebrate this icon and father of Equity, today’s birthday is devoted to reaching out to the motherless, the downtrodden and less privileged members of the society to give them succour and hope in a special way, according to Hon Ifeanyi Umere.
Ifeanyi Umere who is the former Liaison Officer to Senator T. A Orji who represented Abia Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, said today’s birthday will be used to remember the needy in the society, as well as visit schools and orphanages to distribute educational materials and relief packages.
Ifeanyi Umere stressed that Senator T.A Orji is a man who has touched many lives and given so much to Abia State, adding that Abia State and Nigeria will continue to celebrate this man who has given so much to humanity.
He said that Senator T.A Orji’s empowerment programme has empowered many people including youths and women in Abia State, while many undergraduates have benefitted from his scholarship scheme.
NewsCritic online reports that as senator Chief T.A Orji built cottage hospitals, health centres, blocks of classroom, road infrastructure and also embarked on rural electrification projects in many communities. He is a great leader who has carved a niche for himself in political leadership, and Abians will forever remain grateful to him for his leadership roles in the state.
As he marks his birthday today, well meaning Nigerians have continued to honour him and send birthday messages to the man who is popularly known as ‘Ochendo’ by his teeming supporters.
