For the fun-seekers and lovers of entertainment this yuletide season promises to be different in Umuahia the Abia State capital, as UTown Entertainment has unveiled the Abia Xmas Village, designed to provide quality recreation to residents and home comers to make their Christmas celebration a striking one.
According to the project manager, Emenike Iroegbu, the concept is to have a location created for a funfair during the Christmas celebration.
Revealing the packages for the event, Emenike said; “When you come there you will have access to everything you need such as food, drinks, entertainment, hangouts, children’s playgrounds, games play areas etc”.
According to the group the project will last for seven days, starting on the 25th December to 31st December 2023.
The event is planned to have various forms of entertainment that everyone present will enjoy for the seven days.
“We saw the lack of entertainment during the Xmas period, it will solve the difficulty of planning where to take your children to,” Emenike said.
According to the project organizers, they planned to extend a fellowship to the Abia government for partnership as well as other private individuals but purely a private sector driven project.
The event is planned to hold at the Abia State Event Center at Okpara square in Umuahia, Abia state.
The Abia Xmas Village organisers also used the medium to call for more partners to make the project a success.
“If you want your drinks and water to be exclusive as well as internet providers, to be exclusive in any way and you want to partner with us, we are open for partnership,” Emenike said.
According to the project operations manager, Peterson Agu, the project has programmed over 150 vendors cutting across foods, drinks, products, services, VIP lounge, Children games arcades, and other facilities that will make the place look entertaining.
“It is going to look like a real Christmas Village, not all about setting canopies for people to come in, we are looking at setting up a small Disney Land where people can come and say yes; we have seen this in Lagos, Uyo, Port Harcourt etc. Uptown entertainment is bringing it to Abia as part of the key events to celebrate Christmas both for Abians at home and in the diaspora,” Peterson said.
