The Okpu-Ngwu 1 of Okpu-Isingwu Autonomous Community His Royal Majesty Eze KAN Emekobum has congratulated the Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti on his victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
In an exclusive interview with NewsCritic online at the Royal Palace Umuokwenuta Okpu-Isingwu weekend, the former Chairman Ohuhu Council of Traditional Rulers, said he is elated with the outcome of the Tribunal verdict which upheld the election of Gov Alex Otti, describing it as laudable.
Eze Emekobum said that the judgement is a validation of the peoples’ mandate which was expressly given to Gov Otti through the ballot box, adding that politicians should respect the sanctity of the ballot box in a democratic governance.
The Ohuhu royal father further pointed out that the Tribunal dispensed justice without technicalities to the satisfaction of all lovers of democracy and democratic governance in Abia State, who voted for change in the 2023 General Election.
While applauding the Tribunal judgement, Eze Emekobum drummed support for the administration of Gov Otti, saying that the governor has demonstrated through action the capacity to make Abia better than he met it.
He commended Gov Otti for the numerous developmental programmes he is undertaking, especially the six-lane Express Tower-Umuoriehi-Ossah road project which has been flagged off after payment of compensation to owners of demolished structures.
