The Abia state police command has moved to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death in a hotel room in Aba of 43 years old Evangelist Mrs Happiness Echieze.
This is even as the General Overseer of Agape Evangelical Ministry Obikabia in Obingwa local council Bishop Timothy Otu has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Spokesperson for the Abia state police command Maureen Chinaka an ASP said Mrs Echieze , mother of three and a serving Evangelist with Bishop Otu’s ministry was found dead in a hotel room where she had checked into with her boss.
NewsCritic online gathered from reliable sources that Mrs Echieze’s whose husband is said to be residing in Balyesa may have died after a sex rope with her boss, Bishop Otu, who hails from Ugep in Cross River state.
Police authorities said one Mr Godwin Akpan, one of the staff of the Guest House where the incident happened, reported the matter to the Isiala Ngwa Police Division on August 13 2023.
According to the police, Bishop Otu had on August 12 checked into the hotel with Mrs Echieze.
However, by midnight same day the lifeless and naked body of Mrs Echieze, was discovered while her Bishop lover had disappeared.
” She was found dead and naked with white substances emitting from her mouth and nose. Unfortunately, the clergyman had left the scene,” police said.
The police authorities said that a full scale investigation into the matter has commenced, the deceased body deposited at the SDA mortuary facilities in Aba, while Bishop Otu has been arrested and handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department CID for discreet investigation.
