The traditional ruler of Okaiuga-Alaike Ancient Kingdom HRM Eze (Sir) Innocent Adiele Nwaigwe, KSJI, together with the Eze-In-Council and people of Okaiuga-Alaike community Ohuhu have felicitated with the Abia State Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs, Hon Prince Uzor Nwachukwu on his appointment and assumption of office at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Umuahia Abia State.
In a press release issued in Umuahia and made available to NewsCritic online by the Gwurugwuru Palace of HRM Umule Na Umunso (Ekeokwuru) Ohuhu in Umuahia North LGA, the traditional ruler stated that “it’s with a heart full of congratulations that I, Eze Innocent Adiele Nwaigwe, on behalf of my Ugoeze, the Traditional Prime Minister, the Eze-In-Council, President General, Village Heads and Chairmen, Ndi Ichie and the good people of Okaiuga-Alike Ancient Kingdom, congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment and assumption of office, as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Indeed, your appointment by His Excellency Gov Alex Otti , OFR, did not come to us as a surprise given your unprecedented track record of achievements and excellence in service delivery. We believe and have no doubt that your excellent records will be replicated in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, in the shortest possible time”.
The release pointed out that within a few days in office, Traditional Rulers in Abia State have hissed a sigh of relief, as a result of the recent announcement of Gov. Alex Otti’s upward review of the allocation to the Traditional Rulers Council in Abia State, which was made possible by the Office of the Commissioner Ministry of Chieftaincy and Local Government Affairs.
While describing his appointment as a round peg in a round hole, the royal father noted that his choice signposts many good things to come to the once neglected traditional institution.
