Suleiman Anyalewechi, Aba

The Kanu Nwankwo led new management of Enyimba Football Club Aba, has sacked all categories of staff in the employ of the team.

However, any of the affected staffers desirous of still rendering his or her services to the Peoples Elephant, can reply within the next two days.

The mass retrenchment, is contained in a memo issued and signed by the Sporting Director of the club Mr Ekwueme.

The memo dated July 17 2023, and obtained by NewsCritic online, indicated that the retrenchment exercise involves staff attached to both the senior team and the feeder squad.

NewsCritic online, had on July 10 exclusively reported of plans by the new helmsman, Kanu Nwankwo to over haul the staff structure of the 2023 Nigeria professional league champions, a development which have unsettled both players and officials.

An impeccable source close to the team told NewsCritic online on Saturday July 17, that in the days ahead no fewer than 7 players will be formally placed on the transfer list, while the former Super Eagles and Arsenal star Kanu Nwankwo continues his activities in the transfer market aimed at bringing on board some tested and talented players for the  upcoming football season.

However, the retrenchment exercise did not affect the head coach of the Club Finidi George, but all the eight Directors and the supporting staff were all affected by the retrenchment.
