The 19 commissioner nominees screened and cleared by the Abia State House of Assembly will be sworn-in on Friday 7th July 2023, according to a press release signed by Kazie Uko Chief Press Secretary to Gov Alex Otti.
NewsCritic online reports that Abia State governor Dr Alex Otti had on 30th June submitted names of commissioner nominees to the state legislative assembly for screening in keeping with his promise to form his cabinet before the end of June.
Out of the 19 nominees sent to the state assembly, 16 appeared and got cleared while three would appear on a new date. Those cleared will be sworn-in and given portfolios accordingly. The ceremony will hold at the Banquet Hall of the Government House by 11am. All invitees are to be seated before the arrival of His Excellency Gov Otti.
The press release reads:
This is to invite the General Public to the swearing-in ceremony of Abia State commissioner designates by the Governor of the state, His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti, OFR.
Date: Friday, 7th July 2023.
Venue: Banquet Hall Government House, Library Avenue, Umuahia.
Time: 11:00 am.
All guests are to be seated before the arrival of the Governor.
