World Igbo Youth Assembly Decorates Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia With ‘A True Patriot Award’

Abia State born business man and philanthropist, Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia has received the World Igbo Youth Assembly, WIYA, award of honour as A True Patriot in appreciation of his numerous contributions to youth development and community service.

The World Igbo Youth Assembly is an association under the umbrella of the pan Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohaneze Ndigbo. It’s the umbrella body of the largest gathering of Igbo youths across the world which seeks to promote youth agenda, as well as create awareness on topical national issues that relates to the youths.

Comrade Amb James Chibuike Ajuzie President General of the WIYA in his address at the investiture ceremony held today Sunday July 2, 2023, said that the delegates of the Igbo youths came to give honour to who honour is due and to announce Chris Nwa-Abia to the world because of his genuine love for humanity.

Said he “we have come not just to appreciate but to motivate a relentless and unmatchable philanthropist of our time, who during his campaign promised to donate his salaries for development of the youths and others if elected into office. He has built ultra-modern classroom blocks, Mini-stadium, community Halls and gave grants to private business owners in Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.  

While receiving the Award as A True Patriot, Chief Chris Nwa-Abia said he was highly elated when he heard the award was coming from the youths, adding that from what happened during the last General Election it was evident that the youths were schemed out.

He said that the youths must come together to get back their position, pointing out that the elders have failed them. Nwa-Abia urged the WIYA to ensure that the objectives of the group are realised, assuring them that there is hope for the future.

 The founder of the Team Nwa-Abia Movement called on the youths to demand for their rights and seek for what would benefit their generation. He said he will always be at their service and help them to achieve their aims.
