Nigerians across political, ethnic and religious divides especially the youths have been urged to rally round the fledging presidency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pull the country out from the precipice
Similarly, the youths have been asked to key in to the proposed students loan scheme of the regime for a bright educational future.
The call was made by Hamza Al Mustapha Jr. one of the scions of the family of Major Hamza Al Mustapha, in an exclusive interview with NewsCritic online.
According to him, Nigerians should queue behind president Tinubu to move the country out of its present predicaments.
Almustapha Jr lamented that the country and Nigerians have passed through so much hardships in the past few years, noting that so far President Tinubu has shown enough capacity in steering the ship of the country.
He applauded the administration’s plan to introduce the students loan scheme, describing it as a landmark in the quest for a qualitative education- for- all, adding that the youths of the country would benefit immensely from it.
“Before the elections, we in the North never knew who will emerge as the leader of this great country. But we were also sensitive to and aware of the pathetic state of the country.
What we did was to irrespective of political, religious and ethnic persuasions to pray fervently for God to intervene and rescue the country. After the elections, Tinubu emerged as the president. Notwithstanding the complaints and court actions that have trailed the process, our appeal is that until the court’s rules otherwise, Nigerians should rally round the Tinubu presidency in the overall interest of the Nation. Mind you, we are not saying that the process was perfect, neither are we against those that have gone to court to seek to redress. All we are saying is that until that process is exhausted, Nigerians should support the one God has given us, so that the country can move forward,” Almustapha stated.
He appealed to president Tinubu to bring on board only those who will add value to his transformative agenda. So far, going by the trajectories of the appointees so far made, one is left in no doubt that the Tinubu’s presidency is determined to change the narratives. And when you add this up with the political experience of the duo of the First Lady senator Remi Tinubu and vice president Uncle Kashim Shettima, you will agree that the country is in safe hands.”
On whether he will be venturing into active politics in the near future, Mustapha Jr. said he will not rule that out completely.
“The fact is that I am from a family background that has been in active politics in Nigeria. My grandfather the late Senator Usman Albishir was until his death involved in active politics of Yobe State and the country. Presently, my uncle Major Hamza Al- Mustapha is involved. For me anything can happen, but for now my major concern is to liaise with youths of like minds to fight for the institutionalization of the right frame works in the country,” Mustapha Jr noted.
