Abia State governor Dr Alex Otti has reassured Abia citizens and residents alike that better days are ahead of them, insisting that he is every determined to work for the good of the people. This is even as H.E Peter Obi charged him to ensure that the poor benefits more from his policies and programmes.
The duo of Peter Obi and Alex Otti spoke in Umuahia the capital of Abia State Sunday 4th June, 2023 at the Thanksgiving Service organised by the Labour Party in the State.
Speaking at the event H.E Peter Obi urged the new Abia State governor, Dr Alex Otti to ensure that the poor and needy are supported by his government, and to also ensure that his campaign promises of paying pensioners, all public servants without discrimination are implemented without hinderance.
He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for a better Nigeria, even as he regretted that the country’s leadership is still in the hands of the wrong people.
In his address at the Thanksgiving Service, Gov Otti reassured Abia citizens and residents of better days ahead, saying that he is determined to work to improve their well-being and welfare.
Otti promised that the people of Abia state will soon rejoice as his administration will roll out programmes that would lift the poor masses out of poverty. According to him, “this is the time for Abia people to rejoice; I thank God for the marvellous work He has done for me, and I assure you that I’ll not take God’s grace and people’s support for granted.
The Abia Gov thanked the governorship candidates of some opposition political parties in the state who supported him and called on others that are challenging his victory at the Election Petitions Tribunal to withdraw such petitions in the interest of Abia state.
Otti took to his twitter handle on Sunday to appreciate the people of Abia, saying “Today, we were in Umuahia the Capital City of our dear state, Abia, for our Thanksgiving Service. The good and hardworking people of God’s Own State trooped out en masse to offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to God for a new era of purposeful governance in Abia State”.
