Chief Okey Ahaiwe on Saturday 4th February 2023 emerged winner of the rerun Governorship Primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State for the March 11 election. Until recently, Chief Ahiwe was the Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. Ahaiwe scored 496 votes to win the re-run PDP primary following the death of the former candidate, Prof Uche Ikonne.
