Abia youths under the aegis of OVI 4 Senate have vowed to ensure the electoral victory of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in the countdown to the senatorial contest for the Abia South senatorial zone, as well as those of other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidates in Abia North and South, even as they have appealed to the good people of the commercial city to key into the senatorial ambition of the number one citizen of the state.
A chieftain of the PDP in the state and former Deputy Speaker of Abia state House of Assembly, Chief Cosmos Udukwe who spoke at a meeting of the group in Aba Monday noted that Gov Ikpeazu and his administration has shown enough commitment to the interests of Aba people, so much that he has changed the infrastructural narrative of the commercial hub of Abia state.
According to Chief Ndukwe, who is the patron of the youths, the only way the people of Aba would reciprocate the good works of Ikpeazu in Aba is to give him their unalloyed support come the 2023 General Elections.
“Our position is that Gov Ikpeazu has changed the face of Aba. For some of us who were brought up in Aba and who knew how Aba used to be in terms of infrastructural decay, we are in a better position to appreciate the enormous work Ikpeazu’s administration has done in the last 8-years. On that note, it is our belief that his ambition to represent us at the upper chamber of the National Assembly should be supported, so that he will join his predecessors to attract to us all that are due to us from the national level,” Chief Udukwe stated.
Earlier, the leader and coordinator of the OVI 4 Senate in Aba North/South and immediate past vice chairman of the Ariaria International Market, Hon Frank Moses had promised that the group would do everything legally possible to ensure that the senatorial ambition of Gov Ikpeazu is realized.
He noted that Ikpeazu has made their job of selling him to the people much easier by executing people-oriented projects in not only in Aba, but the entire Abia state.
Hon Moses, therefore, appealed to the people to avail themselves these last days remaining for the collection of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, to end to collect their PVCs.
