Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North in the eight senate has been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries. The former Leader, ECOWAS Parliament polled a total of 135 votes to defeat his closest rival and member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal consituency, Hon. Uko Nkole, who secured 29 votes. Hon. Ernest Mba Ajah got 10 votes while Dr Igwe Orji had no vote. The total number of accredited voters was 175 while one vote was voided.
