Atiku Will Win The Presidential Election, Let’s Support Him, Charles Ogbonnaya Tells Abians

Abia State People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign has said that its primary concern now is to ensure that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wins Abia State and the General Election in 2023, just as it called on the party to believe in its presidential candidate because he will emerge winner of the election.

Rising from a meeting of Elders, stakeholders and LGA coordinators of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign, held Thursday 8 December, 2022 at Umuahia the Abia State capital, the Abia State Coordinator of the Atiku/Okowa campaign, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya, said that winning the forthcoming presidential election should be paramount to PDP, adding that nobody should joke with it.

Chief Ogbonnaya said that the essence of the meeting is for the group to prepare ahead of the PDP presidential rally in Abia State which is slated for the 10 January, 2023  and to mobilize Abians to support what the party is doing and not to let the party to shoulder the responsibilities alone.

Also speaking, a former Secretary to the State Government of Abia State, SSG, Dr Eme Okoro, stressed that PDP should be happy with the emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the presidential flagbearer, adding that “it’s important we go out of our way and fight to win the election”.Dr Okoro scored the APC low in terms of performance, and dismissed president Muhammadu Buhari, saying he was not qualified to be president in 2015″.

He wondered how a political party would be in power for 7-years and could not respond to any need of the people, insisting that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar can perform and should be supported.The former SSG who is optimistic that the PDP will win the General Election, urged the Igbo to go into strategic alliance and negotiate with other zones if the clamour for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction must come to reality.

Spokesperson of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign in Abia State, Chief Kingsley Megwara pointed out that the group is not working against the interest of anybody, but ready to collaborate with other groups to ensure victory for all the PDP candidates in the state in the forthcoming General Election.

The highpoint of the meeting was the setting up of ad hoc committees ahead of the Atiku’s visit to Abia State come 10 January, 2023.
