The Abia State Vigilante Service, AVS, Commander General, Mr Idika Mba, has won the NewsCritic Newspaper Security Person of the Year Award 2022.
In a letter conveying the emergence of Idika Mba as the security person of the year award winner by the management of the Newspaper outfit, it said that the Abia State Vigilante Boss was selected for the Award due to his efforts in crime fighting and prevention through the operations of the AVS.
The management of the NewsCritic Newspaper further stated that the Security Person of the Year Award is reserved for that security officer who has shown capacity and commitment in the fight against criminality in Abia State, even at the risk of his life for public security.
Management of the Newspaper noted that the AVS Boss has provided strong security leadership in the AVS, expanding its operations to make it more responsive to the challenges of insecurity in the state and complimenting the efforts of the Police to keep Abia safe.
Therefore, the Newspaper pointed out that it is in recognition of the AVS Commander General role in securing Abia and the impetus he has brought to Abia Vigilante Service that qualified him for this award. It added that the honour is to encourage him to do more in securing the lives and property of the citizens. The award will be conferred on him at a ceremony to be organised in honour of the award recipient.
