Aba North PDP Stakeholders Rally Support For Ikpeazu, Ikonne And Others

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members and leaders in Aba North LGA have been urged to demonstrate their loyalty and commitment by working to deliver all the party’s candidates in the 2023 General Election. The appeal was the high point of a consultative meeting held between the PDP leadership in the area with stakeholders and other members.

Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike member representing Aba North/South federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Elder Emeka Igara Chairman of Ariaria International Market Aba and Hon Chimenyihura Ikonne Executive Chairman Aba North Local Council among other major PDP stakeholders all harped on the need for members to close ranks and ensure the electoral victories of all PDP flag bearers at the polls come 2023.

According to Hon Ebisike, the PDP in the state has kept faith with its promises to the people since coming into power in 1999, noting that in that case it deserves the continued support and loyalty of members. The only way the people can show their loyalty, according to him is to ensure that the party remains in charge of affairs in the state so as to continue to serve the interests of the people.

Hon. Ebisike, who used the occasion to spotlight his modest achievements since being elected into the Green Chamber last year, said he has so far given a good account of his stewardship. He therefore called on the people to further encourage them by queuing behind all PDP candidates.

On his part, Elder Igara whose members at Ariaria Market had before now pledged their loyalty and support to PDP observed that the party under the leadership of Gov Okezie Ikpeazu has performed so creditably in the state in the last seven years that it deserves the continued support of the people.

He, therefore, called on members of the party to come together and work towards the victory of Gov Ikpeazu, Prof Uche Ikonne, the PDP gubernatorial hopeful and other party candidates.

Explaining the rationale behind the meeting, the Executive Chairman of Aba North Hon. Ikonne who also was the convener said the need to gauge the feeling of members on the way forward and taking stock of developments after the primaries as well as keeping members abreast with the state of affairs in the party were the major reasons.
