PDP Chieftains In Umuhu Bloc Ohuhu Meet With Ugochukwu Ezeocha, Assures Him Of Maximum Support

Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Umuhu bloc Ohuhu Monday 8th August, 2022 held a breakfast meeting with the candidate of the PDP for Umuahia North State Constituency seat in the 2023 General Election, Hon Ugochukwu Ezeocha.

The meeting which was hosted by the former Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Chief Okezie Ezeigbo at his country home in Umudiawa, had in attendance the who-is-who in PDP from the zone.

NewsCritic online reports that the meeting was convened to formally introduce Ugochukwu Ezeocha to the PDP in Umuhu as the flagbearer of the party for the Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State constituency election. Hon. Ezeocha is from Amafor Isingwu, in Isingwu Autonomous community of Umuahia North LGA, Abia State.

Speaking at the meeting, Rt Hon Emeka Ejiogu stressed that the PDP primaries are over, adding that the party is supreme so that any decision taken by the party is bidding in all the members of the party.

He stated that the PDP as a political party has come to stay in Abia State, while expressing his confidence that the party would be victorious in this General Election in Abia State. Hon Ejiogu said that all hands must be on deck to deliver both Ugochukwu Ezeocha and Prof Uche Ikonne at the elections, noting that “we can’t be afraid of elections”.

The two-time member of Abia State House of Assembly urged members not to engage in anti-party activities, and promised to be available any time should they have any misgivings against any PDP candidate in Ohuhu for talks.

Prince Ben Okezie the PDP State Treasurer maintained that Ugochukwu Ezeocha is on ground and would serve Ohuhu better when elected member of the state house of assembly, while Chief Ebisike Okengwu on his part said they want a home-based candidate, who understands his people. He promised that Ugochukwu Ezeocha would give Ohuhu what they want.

Hon Chucks Nwagbara, Chief Hope Uwaga, Chief Uche Aguoru etc all spoke favourable about the candidature of Ugochukwu Ezeocha, describing him as someone who understands what political party is all about, adding that he will do well because he is on the right track.

Earlier, Ezeocha thanked the party members for being present at the meeting, saying that being the candidate of the party for Umuahia North constituency does not make it his election alone but that the ticket belongs to all of them. He said he is happy that Umuhu PDP has great men and women who will steer the ship to success.

He assured that “we are going to give the contest our best shot, we are determined and I’m confident that we will make it, Ezeocha adds.

Some of the party chieftains in attendance include Rt Hon Emeka Ejiogu, Chief Ebisike Okengwu, Prince Ben Okezie, Chief Hope Uwaga, Ikemba Uche Aguoru, Chief Okezie Ezeigbo and Okey Ufomadu. Others were Hon Kingsley Asagwara, Ogbudu Jeffery, Chief Emma Aguikwu, Chief Peter Nwaogaraku, Omekara Nduka, Aham Oji and Hon Nwabeze Nwachukkwu among others.
