The political fortunes of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Isingwu ward took a dramatic plunge yesterday Saturday 23, 2022 as the party’s ward chairman and secretary led over 150 party members to join the Action Peoples Party, APP, in a brief ceremony held at the Nkwoachara square.
Mr Nnabugwu Ohaeri, who until last Saturday was the ward chairman of APC in Isingwu ward decided to dump the party with other members of the executives in the event which climaxed with the tearing into pieces of their APC membership cards in full public glare, to demonstrate the end of their relationship with the party.
Speaking at the ceremony in which some state officials of the APP led by the state Administrative Secretary and LGA Chairman, Emeka Ajule and Nnamdi Ogbuagu respectively where on hand to welcome them to the party’s fold, Mr Ohaeri said he has left APC with all the members of the Team Nwa-Abia in Isingwu ward in protest against the mistreatment and neglect by the leadership of the APC.
“I’ve worked for APC for 8-years now yet nothing, I have been using my resources as a timber dealer to make the party succeed yet nothing. So, today we’ve seen a good party that will carry everyone along and they will see the difference now”, Mr Ohaeri posits.
He stated that Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Nwa-Abia is the man they are following to anywhere he is going, while calling on APC members in Isingwu to join the Team Nwa-Abia Movement for change.
Some of the party men and women who decamped to APP congratulated the party for welcoming and having the Team Nwa-Nwabia people in their fold, saying that they have got the right person in Chief Chris Akachukwu Nwa-Abia.
Chief Nwokenta, while giving the vote of thanks maintained that APP is lucky to have Nwa-Abia in the party, adding that they are going to witness what is going to happen in the party in Isingwu and Ohuhu. He prayed that what happened to them in APC would not repeat itself again in APP.
Earlier the LGA Chairman Chief Nnamdi Ogbuagu announced that they came to welcome their Isingwu brothers from APC to APP. He thanked them for joining the party which is one of the parties in Abia today that is not in court.
Nze Kalu Chukwuemeka chairman of Reality Organisation in Abia state, David Ukoha the party’s PRO, and pastor Kensmart Ubani where some of the APP chieftains in attendance.
The coordinator of Team Nwa-Abia Movement Ugochukwu Gabriel was also in attendance among other notable personalities.
