Ohuhu Umuahia born socialite and international businessman, Chief Charles Ahamefula Ohaeri aka Charly B has raised the alarm over spate of raids and attacks on his house at Umuda Okorocha, Isingwu autonomous community by gunmen believed to be targeting his life.
Investigations by NewsCritic online revealed that since the Isingwu born socialite returned from abroad the gunmen have been visiting his house at odd hours in search of him without success.
Although no one knows their mission, sources confirmed to this reporter that it might not be unconnected to a land dispute between the Ohaeri family and Ugbaja Nwachukwu family which the former won at the Customary court and now at the Appeal court.
However, it was gathered that instead of allowing the case which is before the court of law to run its full course, some members of the rival family have resorted to subterfuge and the use of gunmen to harass and raid the home of Chief Charles Ohaeri, aka Charly B believed to be the backbone of the Ohaeri family of Umuda Okorocha Isingwu.
According to a member of the Ohaeri family who spoke to this reporter, Umuna, he said armed security operatives have been visiting the house, adding that he also saw them this morning at Charly B residence.
Our findings also revealed that various petitions have been written to the Police high command, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in a bid to get Charly B out of the way. But these petitions based on which the security operatives both from the FBI and Zone 9 Umuahia have been visiting his house has no linkage with the ancestral land dispute in question.
“Those boys are deadly and they are threatening the life of Chief Charles Ahamefula Ohaeri because they may think he is the one supporting the Ohaeri family, said one source.
But Chief Charles Ohaeri in a brief chat with NewsCritic warned those behind the incessant raid on his house to caution themselves and desist from such act or else he would match them with same force which might be catastrophic.
Charle B urged the leadership of Isingwu and Ohuhu to bear him witness now and call those people to order before the situation gets out of hand, adding that since he came back, he has been under serious threats and attacks on his home, including the one this morning for no justification.
