Abia Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) has appealed to Abians and the residents of Abia to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card and be part of the process to elect credible candidates in the forthcoming 2023 General Election.
The Association made the appeal in a press statement issued in Umuahia and made available to newsmen by the Chairman, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu. He said voting for credible candidates would ensure the dreams and aspirations of Abians are attained, stressing that the process can only be done by those with PVC, highlighting the need for Abians to go all out and get their PVC.
The media association noted that it was necessary for all Abians, who have exhibited voter apathy in the past, to take advantage of the 2023 General Election to vote for credible leaders who can change the narratives, reminding them that they cannot sit on the fence and expect that needed change.
The statement reads in part:
“Everyone who is 18-years and above should get their PVCs because it is very important in shaping our future and those of our children. The forthcoming elections give us the right to exercise our powers as citizens.
Chief Anyatuonwu advised Abians to participate in the electoral process, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has improved on the electoral process by trying to reduce rigging and other forms of electoral malpractices.
