Ubani Main Market Will Return Back To Life With The Inauguration Of The New Leadership- Chikodi Chukwunyere

Newly appointed Vice Chairman of Ubani Main Market, Umuahia, Mr Chikodi Chukwunyere, aka, Nwoke Okpoo has commended the governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and the Commissioner Ministry of Trade and Investment, Chief John Okiyi Kalu for giving him and the new executive members the opportunity to serve, saying that with the composition of the new leadership there’s no doubt that the market would experience an increase in business activities.
Mr Chikodi Chukwunyere(Nwoke Okpoo) in an interview with The NewsCritic in Umuahia, stressed that the new leadership of Ubani Main Market, Umuahia would perform better because it is a carefully selected team of brilliant young men, who are eager to change the narratives of the market, and bring it back to life once again.
He pointed out that the appointment of Chief John Okiyi Kalu as the Commissioner Ministry of Trade and Investment, is one appointment that has put the governor in good light and portrayed him as one with the interest of Abians at heart, while describing the Commissioner and his Permanent Secretary as round pegs in round holes.
Speaking further, the Vice Chairman of the Ubani Main Market said the concept of the market is good, and called on the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji not to allow his father’s legacy to be in vain. Mr Chikodi Chukwunyere Nwoke Okpoo, urged the Speaker, whom he described as the leader of Abia youths not to abandon the market to its fate, but to help the market so that it would also be of help to him in future.
On areas the new leadership would want government intervention in the market, the Vice Chairman said he would like the state government to look into the Agbo-Umueze road, which is the shortest link to the market. According to him, fixing that road is like solving the problems of the market because it is the shortest route to Uzoakoli.
Said he” if government can look into that road things will be better for all. It’s the shortest road to Uzoakoli and people can even trek to Ubani from Ugwunchara, but going through Ohuhu road is far”.
“I want to call on the traders and buyers to continue to be hopeful because in no distant time the Ubani Market will return to it’s glorious past”.
Mr Chukwunyere, Nwoke Okpoo advised that government should divert all the trailers offloading goods in Umuahia town to the market where there is enough space, and stop them from causing congestion in the metropolitan city.
