Mazi Harbor vindicated as PDP Government Rewards Paul Ikonne for sabotaging Buhari/APC efforts in every election from 2015 till date.
The PDP Government of Abia State led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu will on Thursday the 11th of November 2021 openly receive and reward one of its political spies in Abia APC , Prince Paul Ikonne.
The Abia government acting in association with some groups of Ukwa Ngwa ethnic nationality earlier announced plans to reward their political agents across the state ahead of 2023 permutations – beginning with the Executive Secretary of National Agricultural Land Development Agency, NALDA, in a big ceremony holding at the premises of Abia State Polytechnic Aba today Thursday 11 Nov, while others will follow suit in their various locations. The ceremony being organized by Abia State Government is sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, strategy committee headed by the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
A chieftain of the APC in Abia State said the Government of Abia State revealed that in 2015 Governorship Election, Prince Paul Ikonne convinced the then APC gubernatorial Candidate Chief Nyerere Anyim to play down his mandate and weaken APC in Abia State to aide PDP candidate, who is also his kinsman of same Ngwa extraction – now Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
In 2019 Governorship Election Prince Paul Ikonne while a card carrying member of APC, also sponsored several radio, Television and other public announcements – calling for all Ukwa Ngwa aborigines and Abia people to return Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for a second term in office, instead of the then APC Governorship Candidate Dr Uche Ogah.
Again In March this year 2021, when there was a bye-election for the Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency, Prince Paul Ikonne openly campaigned against APC in several public announcements in the radio, television and other media that Aba people should vote for the PDP candidate, who consequently won the election. No Wonder the immediate younger brother of Prince Paul Ikonne was penciled down and sponsored to become Chairman of Aba North Local Government Council thereafter.
According to sources close to Prince Paul Ikonne, who pleaded anonimity, the Ikonne family has been playing anti-APC activities in all elections since 2015 with some other Ngwa leaders – so that he would be considered for one political patronages or another by either President Buhari who respects the Royalty, and or Abia State Government. Consequently, Prince Paul Ikonne has been benefitting from both Abia State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria after all these uncharitable records of serial betrayal and grievous anti-Party merchandize against APC in Abia State.
It is rumored also that the Senate President Ahmed Lawan was lured to attend and give a federal coloration to the planned political shame, in guise of commissioning an uncompleted “Automated Shoe Factory” in Aba which project the Abia State Government under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is not prepared to complete and make functional.
The Chairman of the Works Committee of the ceremony is Chief Eze Nwanganga Abia State Commissioner for Petroleum Resources and other Abia State Government officials.
In a press release by Abia State APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Okey Ezeala, the National leadership of the APC is enjoined to seriously deal with political Chameleons like Prince Paul Ikonne, Donatus Nwankpa and co travelers within APC ranks in Abia and the South East generally, instead of patronizing and celebrating them with lucrative appointments from the Federal Government – as though traditional party loyalists are naive. According to Hon. Okey Ezeala, the fortunes of the APC in Abia State and indeed South East has been undermined by political merchants like Prince Paul Ikonne during every election.
The celebration of Prince Paul Ikonne a PDP agent masquerading as an APC member, with a sensitive federal appointment as Managing Director of NALDA is no doubt a political mistake, discouraging and setting bad example for party loyalty. This further buttresses the alarm earlier raised by the newly elected State Chairman of Abia APC Mazi Enyinnaya Harbor that the party will thenceforth resist the antics of supposed party Chieftains who are APC in the day, but PDP at night.
Hon. Ezeala Further pointed that the Anambra experience is a warning for all who might trust strangers with their political destiny in the nearest future.
